Below
is a selection of links to other related websites. Inclusion of
these does not imply any endorsement of the products or services,
but they are sites we use and look at regularly:
As
with any subject, it is important to have information available
from good sources. We would recommend that anyone with an interest
in horology joins one of the associations involved in promotion
and education of horological matters.
The British
Horological Institute is the body responsible
for setting working standards within the UK and also has a role
in ensuring good standards of training are available. The headquarters
are at Upton Hall, Upton, Nottinghamshire and aside from the library
and museum, a programme of residential training courses in many
aspects of horology is provided, covering both clocks and watches.
Their website also has lists of registered repairers.
Another
organisation for those maybe based in the USA or interested in affairs
over the pond is the National
Association of Watch and Clock Collectors.
We
are members of both of these organisations.
Other
organisations to contact are:
Antiquarian
Horological Society
British
Watch and Clock Makers Guild
If
we find details of their websites/ contact details, we will include
them in due course.
A
great regular publication is:
The
monthly magazine for clock collectors, repairers and makers world-wide.
Available
by subscription. Click the image to go to their website.
If
on holiday in Florida, pop in and visit some good friends of ours
in the beautiful town of Mt. Dora, about 40 miles from Orlando:

Walk
in the Woods,
stocking the full colour range of Crocs (if you don't know what
they are, you gotta go see 'em!), a great range of clothing manufactured
in good ol' USA from recycled cloth, as well as a superb range of
